The Second Inception Meeting: The Women’s Micro Bank and the Green Finance Centre Papua New Guinea (GFC) met for an inception meeting on 3 April 2024 at Mama Bank’s Head Office in Central Waigani, Port Moresby NCD.

The Women’s Micro Bank (Mama Bank) was also one of the three financial institutions that signed the Inclusive Green Finance Policy (IGFP) Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) during the Green Finance Centre launch and agreed to partner with the Bank of Papua New Guinea (BPNG) and the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) in the IGFP Implementation Roadmap.

The meeting was conducted with Mama Bank’s senior leadership team and covered the following agendas, similar to the first inception meeting:

• Overview and core functions of GFC.
• Green Taxonomy as part of the IGFP.
• Timeline and next steps to develop green loan products for Mama Bank.

Mama Bank’s Chief Executive Officer Mr. Gunanidhi Das said he was delighted to work with GFC and be part of the IGFP Implementation Roadmap.
